Sunday Viewing: Laura Mvula - That’s Alright
Laura Mvula’s new video for “That’s Alright” falls somewhere between a wild dream sequence and an avant-garde runway show. It is magnificent.Listen to Laura Mvula on exfm
Michael Jackson may have made the moonwalk famous in 1983 when he unveiled it live at the Motown awards, but entertainers had been busting that move for years. Our friends over at Now This News put together this quick video documenting the history of everybody’s favorite dance move. Can you do the moonwalk?
Autre Ne Veut won #MEGABLAAG and possibly all of SXSW. Thanks to all the amazing bands and lovely folks that came out last night!
Sunday Viewing: Autre Ne Veut - Play By Play
Last week we had the great fortune of catching Autre Ne Veut’s live set at Santos Party House. This week we have the even greater fourtune of having him play our SXSW #MEGABLAAG party. Aren’t we the luckiest bastards in the world?
If you’re in Austin this week and dig what you see above then come party with us. Arrive early and make sure to RSVP. See you there!
Pretty Heart - Toy
Pretty Heart’s Half Asleep is this weeks featured Album of the Week. If you haven’t listened yet we’re sure her new single “Toy,” a wickedly dark, angst driven track will make you a believer. She’s seemed to capture the essence of this track with the equally lo-fi noir production seen above. Keep an eye on this one. 2013 just might be the year of Morgan Holliger.Pretty Heart - Toy
Bago - Dr. Lock
This week we chose to feature Bago’s sultry neo-soul album Sunday’s Best as our Album of the Week. High5Collective, as they always do, have created this gorgeous video to accompany “Dr. Lock,” one of our favorite tracks off the album.
When you’re done watching take the full album for a spin. It’s gorgeous. You’ll love it. We promise.
Sunday Viewing: Jessie Ware - Sweet Talk
Every Sunday we share our favorite video of the week. This week Jessie Ware’s “Sweet Talk” won us over. Everyone remembers playing dress-up as a kid. At least half of us are guilty of standing in front of the mirror, dressed as our favorite pop stars, singing our little hearts out.
This video takes it to new levels getting a mini Ware look alike and showing the creation of the song from studio to live performance. It’s perfect for all the right reasons and makes us fall even deeper in love with Ms. Ware.Listen to Jessie Ware
