Tame Impala’s sophomore album, Lonerism the follow up to their 2010 debut Innerspeaker is a sonic leap forward for this Australian bred psych-rock quartet. On this album a pop influence can be felt brought on by the indulgent use of synthesizers while still keeping their searing guitar lines, bouldering drums, free bass and of course Kevin Parker’s vocal prowess.

New York by way of Pittsburgh, blues/psych-rock trio Peanut Butter Lovesicle recently released their new EP Dirty Pride. Recorded entirely in an 1869 church in the Hudson Valley of New York, the EP was recorded completely live, with zero digital manipulation; something that is very unusual in modern day music.
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee rock duo JEFF The Brotherhood is made up of two real life brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall. Their sound is rife with hints of garage, psych and punk rock influences. If you’re in to Sonic Youth or the White Stripes then you’ll probably enjoy all that this duo has to offer.
Somewhere between shoegaze and neo-psychedelia, Highlands will take any willing listener to the other side of the ominous looking-glass.
The Inscape hail from Nashville, TN and their blues-driven psych rock sound is reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane, The Black Angels, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre with a dash of Black Keys for good measure.
A garage rock style that sounds like it could have come straight from the British Isles but is instead created and thriving in Brooklyn, NY.
If you were to take west coast pop art experimentalism and filter it through an industrial midwest prism the end result would probably be layers of rock psychedelia much like the sounds of Secret Colors.
