Join us for another amazing night of music as we team up with one of our choice music blogs Knox Road.
The lineup features one of our favorite L.A. Bands Warm Weather along with Brooklyn locals Time Travelers and Port St. Willow. We’ll be topping off this incredible line up with Toronto based folk rockers The Wooden Sky.
The Wooden Sky: Initially formed as the bedroom project of singer / songwriter / guitarist Gavin Gardiner, Toronto-based country-folk / indie rock collective the Wooden Sky have grown exponentially throughout the years. They have been touring in support of their most recent and critically acclaimed album Every Child A Daughter, Every Moon A Sun. To celebrate the February 2012 release they created video series part live performance, part narrative film that can be seen here.
Warm Weather: In 2011, Warm Weather released Dances giving the world of indie listeners a pleasant yet unexpected surprise, a EP full of exquisitely crafted pop songs. The album even found it’s way on on to I Guess I’m Floating’s best albums of 2011 list. With that success they continued on, releasing their newest EP Looking Through in January 2012. They are now embarking on their east coast tour and we are thrilled to support them as they travel up from Philadelphia to NYC. If you’d like to help too please donate to their Kickstarter east coast tour fund.
CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival kicks off today! We’ll be getting in on the action by participating on a panel, showcasing our new next-gen website at the Cantora Lab’s Smart Lounge event and ending the week with another huge MEGABLAAG party in Brooklyn. It’s going to be a crazy ride but we’re totally game.
During the Smart Lounge event on Thursday, October 20th we’ll be showing off our shiny new next-gen site by playing top tracks from the new Trending section, plus exclusive playlists curated by premiere Tastemakers such as I Guess I’m Floating, Stadiums and Shrines, Knox Road, GIMME TINNITUS and Listen Before You Buy.
Follow our exfm Smart Lounge account to have first listen to this exclusive playlist and if you want to check out the event in person make sure to rsvp. You wouldn’t want to miss live performances by Dum Dum Girls, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Little Red, Small Black and Gotye at the Thompson Hotel would you?
We didn’t think so. See you out there!
