The issue in Chromium has always been that it does not ship with mp3 decoders. So while everything technically ‘works’, the songs would never play. For those unfamiliar with Chromium, it is the open source browser that Chrome is built on top of. Basically, Google set up Chromium as a foundation to build a browser, and then they take that, add a few things (such as an mp3 decoder!) and ship it as Chrome.
